The seasons are a-changing...

This morning was perishingly cold (inside my boat and out) - even my cat with his incredibly fluffy coat was shivering once he left his spot by the fire and ventured outside! Is anyone else's boat quite so cold in the mornings, even with a roaring fire going the night before, or is it just me? With thick frosts like these, my small half-size stove (albeit for a small half-size boat, thankyou Whitewater!), and apparent lack of insulation, I fear some whittling needs to be done come the weekend. I appear to have some extra slots in my windows... so some flexible perspex may work for makeshift double-glazing...?
I fear I'm not the most natural of narrowboaters during the cold dark winters, but still,  I wouldn't give it up for the world!

A few days ago I went for an evening stroll with Whitewater near Culham Lock. We were searching for something, (answers probably), but were unable to find anything. So, after reflecting awhile we went to the pub and forgot about it....

After a few extremely sleepless & stormy nights, a beautifully still crisp October morning at the marina...

Or perhaps he's always had big pawsies....

Finally all set up with internet and webcam and happily communicating from here to my sister in Ukraine!  We both spent much of the time wandering round our separate abodes with our webcams, pointing out the week's home improvements. Typical really. I so love my "hollowed-out tree trunk" as my Ranger from the North calls it....

I live with my cat Misha. My boaty neighbours think he has big feet - can't see it myself! Think the picture I sent Valonia of paw-prints in the frost might have been little Lewsey's...

My homely boat, paintwork almost finished during the "summer" of 2008. Well, means I already have my project for next year:-)
